A growing family in Hertfordshire needed to extend and open up their cottage. The timber box extension will be hidden behind a growing wall facing the public bridleway, whilst opening up to the garden at the rear. The project provides practical additional spaces, whilst bringing the cottage, garden and extension together into a beautiful whole.

My Architect undertook Feasibility study work for this locally listed building in southwest London. Proposals included simple boxes clad in polished concrete to skewed geometric forms clad in timber set apart from the existing building by glass ribbons.

My Architect created a new timber and glass extension over the excavated backyard of this existing building on the Kings Road in Chelsea. The giant timber fins wrap over and under the roof to allow light in whilst preventing direct sunlight from overheating the space. A polished concrete floor and electrics concealed within the floor keep the walls clean and uncluttered for hanging artwork.
